Airliner Upstairs is a moody Los Angeles sound room and event space designed for hi-fi listening, nightlife, and elevated hospitality. AIRLINER BAR - LISTENING ROOM Highland Park, Los Angeles, CA Rudimental Co. helped bring Airliner Upstairs to life as an intimate, high-design sound room above the historic Airliner Bar in Los Angeles. Created as a hi-fi listening and nightlife space, the project blends hospitality, atmosphere, and acoustic-driven design to create a room that feels immersive, moody, and considered from every angle. The space was designed around the energy of an audiophile club experience, with Klipsch speakers powered by McIntosh amplifiers, layered lighting, rich finishes, and a warm, transportive feel that makes the upstairs room feel distinct from the bar below. Every detail was approached with the goal of creating a space that feels elevated but not overdesigned, intimate but still alive, and perfectly suited for music, cocktails, private events, and late-night Los Angeles energy. Designed to feel elevated, functional, and quietly luxurious, the guest house was updated with a careful eye toward proportion, finish, and livability. Every detail was approached with respect for the property’s setting, creating a polished retreat that feels connected to the larger estate while offering privacy, flexibility, and a fully independent residential experience. Luxury development of a Nichols Canyon home, with a new second story, structural steel, historic details, and refined custom finishes. NICHOLS CANYON RESIDENCE West Hollywood, Los Angeles A ground-up redevelopment and architectural expansion of a 1923 Old Hollywood residence in lower Nichols Canyon, now nearing completion. With the exception of the original front façade and period windows, which were carefully preserved to maintain the home’s historic street presence, the residence was taken down and rebuilt as a full-scale development. The result is a thoughtful restoration and expansion that honors the character of the original home while introducing a more elevated, modern living experience. The project includes an entirely new second story, complex A-frame steelwork supporting the dramatic roofline, triangular windows, and vaulted interior volumes, along with expanded living space, bespoke detailing, new baths, a fully redesigned kitchen, and a seamless connection to the private garden, pool, and outdoor entertaining areas.
